The .sh Domain
.SH is the country domain of St. Helena, an island in the South Atlantic. The island, uninhabited until the 16th century, was named by its explorer João da Nova after the mother of the Constantine the Great, Helena. In the course of time the island was occupied as a strategic point by the the Dutch and British - an influence that is still noticeable today. Today the citizens of St. Helena have a British passport.
Through the commissioning of a mobile network in 2015 and the construction of an airport in 2016, the island has clearly gained in infrastructure and thus shows ambitions to establish itself in the tourism industry.
